+ Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a talented and experienced WordPress Plugin Developer. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining custom WordPress plugins to enhance the functionality of our websites.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress architecture, PHP, JavaScript, and database management, as well as a passion for creating high-quality, efficient, and scalable solutions.

+ Responsibilities:

  • Develop custom WordPress plugins from concept to deployment, adhering to WordPress coding standards and best practices.
  • Extend and customize existing WordPress plugins to meet specific project requirements.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure plugin functionality and compatibility.
  • Optimize plugin performance for speed and efficiency.
  • Integrate plugins with third-party APIs and services.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing plugins.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends and technologies.
  • Version control using Git.
  • Problem solve and debug complex issues.
  • Follow security best practices for WordPress Development.

+ Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in WordPress plugin development.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (jQuery, AJAX), HTML, and CSS.
  • Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, and APIs.
  • Experience with custom post types, taxonomies, and meta boxes.
  • Familiarity with WordPress coding standards and best practices.
  • Experience with debugging and troubleshooting WordPress issues.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with WordPress REST API.
  • Experience with composer.
  • Ability to write secure code.

+ Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
  • Experience with WordPress multisite.
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
  • Experience with automated testing (e.g., PHPUnit).
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with woocommerce plugin development.
  • Experience with Gutenberg block development.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.

+ Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Or equivalent relevant experience.
